Day 1- 18th Sept ] [ Day 2 - 19th Sept ] Day 3 - 20th Sept ] Day 4 - 21st Sept ] Day 5 - 22nd Sept ] Day 6 - 25th Sept ] Day 7 - 26th Sept ] Day 8 - 27th Sept ] Day 9 - 28th Sept ] Day 10 - 29th Sept ]

1. To get into the mood for his main event Ray Swalking practices by walking around an outline of the Olympic rings. Is it possible for him to go round in one continuous sweep without retracing any part of his path?

2. Identify something sporty in an anagram of:

 SWISH MINCING SYNDROME

3. In Ubongia 100 centibongs make a bong and the smallest unit of currency is the centibong. The exchange rate is exactly 3 bongs to 2 Australian dollars. As a result AB:CD Ubongi bongs is equivalent to DC:BA Ozzie dollars. Find AB:CD

4. You are stuck out in the outback in totally inappropriate clothes with just a bottle of Chardonnay for company as you wait to be rescued by indigenous peoples. How can you be sure whether you’ve drunk less than or more than half of it?

(And, no, you don’t have any thing to measure the wine out into…)

5. What is interesting about the sum:

16 X 68 = 6608?

The entries may be submitted by snail mail on a post card to Sydney Mind Olympics, Didcot Towers, 11 Wilcher Close, East Hagbourne, DIDCOT, OX11 9LU, United Kingdom, or by e-mail to:

SydneyMind@puzzlemaster.co.uk

The closing date is Sunday, October 22nd 2000.
